Raspberry Sweatshirt Base Jacket

These additional directions will teach the following techniques/skills.  Combine them with the BASIC DIRECTIONS.  as taught in 

Section 1:  General Directions & Grape Sweatshirt Base Jacket 

  • Adding significant length at the hemline
  • Concealed pocket integrated into hemline addition
  • Setting the Collar down onto the jacket body for 'no neck' body types
  • Design restraint

Add polar fleece extension to lower edge of Front and Back.

Lap, stitch, and trim excess.

Machine quilt outer Fabric Band to the polar fleece to 'attach'.

Extend one seam of the Lining over the opened seam allowance of the side seams.

Turn under 5/8" on adjacent side seam of lining.

Shape lowermost edge of the jacket as desired.

Add wrapped bias edge to lowermost jacket edge as per directions.

Trim seam allowance to 1/4" and perfectly
even.

Wrap edge tightly and pin into place.

After securing folded edge then couch yarns as desired.

Lay knit Band as desired at back neck. Transition to desired placement at Fronts. Mark the edge of the Band on the jacket itself.

Cut down neckline as directed in printed booklet.

Trim corner of Fabric Front Band as shown.

Determine widths of bias folded pieces that edge the Front Bands.
