cts-1
One of my favorites and SO simple!

cts-2
You must be OK with the collar flopping wherever it wants.

cts-3
Simple shell below.

cts-4
Note strips of opposite side of fabric as edge finish.

cts-5
Read in the booklet exactly what this is about.

cts-6
Fabric that is larger than where it will be on the body MUST 'flop'.

cts-7
Topstitch to finish, taking into account what stitching will show  if using Stretch Twin Needle.

cts-8
Stitched wrong sides together, the seams can look like this.

cts-9
A band of the contrasting side finishes the Sleeve.

cts-10
A strip of fabric finished BOTH the inside and the outside of the edges.

cts-11
Center fronts were finished first - THEN the upper necktie edge.

cts-12
Wonder Tape holds things in place on BOTH sides for easy stitching.

cts-13
I couched yarn down the center of the fabric 'trim'.

cts-14
Closure with a loop of fabric.

cts-15
The striped kit Cascade Hem Twin Set that launched this new pattern!

cts-17
Snoop shopping this style in ready-to-wear. .

cts-18
Another view of my 'inspiration'.

cts-19

Figuring out how it was done....

cts-20
The inside to outside corner...

cts-21
The newest jacket I found in Ready-to-Wear.  The grain line did not seam to matter at all on the cascade hem.  This one extended all the way around the back of the jacket.

cts-22
Another view of the newest version of this jacket I saw in a store.

cts-23
Locating the horizontal line at a flattering spot above the waistline is the first important step!

cts-24
FITTING at the Back with tucks on either side of center back.

cts-25
This photo shows really well how much I added for this pattern at the neck and center front.

cts-26
Study this photo int he booklet, along with the explanation.  This will NOT be verbally explained - for copyright protection.

cts-27
Read in the booklet this 'nuts and bolts' portion of creating this look.

cts-28
Front closure.

cts-29
See how the cross grain strips curl?  Stripes on this fabric sere crosswise, but I cut out the entire garment on cross grain.

cts-30
Floral Cascading Collar and Hemline Jacket with lined V Neck Shell.

cts-31
A one-sided fabric, this rayon print needed to be lined at the front.  Red details in the booklet.

cts-32
Lower cascading hem portion - lined.

cts-33
Elastic pulls in the back of this jacket.

cts-34
Cap Sleeve shell with lined neckline.

cts-35
See how different the sides of the pink fabric are in color?

cts-36
Be sure to measure for straight grain fold.

cts-37
Chalk intersection of seam lines to find exact point of V neckline.

cts-38
RS together, pin neckline and match shoulder seams.

cts-39
After stitching, clip to V point.

cts-40
Trim seam allowances of shoulder seams at an angle to reduce bulk.

cts-41
Clip seam allowance but STAGGER the clips to maintain as smooth an edge as possible.

cts-41a
Pull Lining to inside a bit extra to keep from 'peeking' on the outside.

cts-42
Clip only one seam allowance at underarm DOT.

cts-43
At Cap Sleeve, pin so that inner lning area is a bit shorter.

cts-44
Baste around Cap Sleeve by hand.

cts-45
Topstitch around Cap Sleeve, pivoting at intersection below DOT at side seam.

cts-46
Bar tack stitch at side seam at intersection of topstitching.

cts-47
Finished look of Cap Sleeve.

cts-48
Interface the hem allowance with 1 1/4" strips of crossgrain cut fusible knit interfacing.

cts-49
Shell looks like this from the inside.

cts-50
